Elon's latest polemic

I think that the fact that Elon Musk bought Twitter is pretty bad, knowing that he never ran a social network. In the first week after the purchase of Twitter, he fired half of the company’s employees, under which were the former manager of the company. Quick after he fired them, he employed them back because he had found that he couldn’t manage a social network.

Then he announced that he wanted to delete Twitter’s censorship policies and unban people like Trump or Andrew Tate whom is a famous sexist and misogynist who once tweeted that woman, I quote, “Women need to bear some responsibility for being raped”. So, I think it is a really bad idea to unban people like these. Because first of all, Twitter is already pretty free of speech but still with some moderation. Now, Elon wants to entirely stop moderating the network. Like homophobic insults, racism, etc… were banish able but now he wants to stop them from being banned. For me it’s really bad because the people are not only going to give their opinion while still being respectful but they are going to discriminate the different communities.

So, this was my opinion and a bit of explanation about the currently big controversy about Elon Musk.

Another Elon Musk project

I want to talk a bit more about this man who is famous because of his plan to colonize Mars. He has a lot of other ambitious and crazy projects, like his project Starlink.

Starlink is a satellite internet service operator made by SpaceX. SpaceX begun launching Starlink satellites in 2019, in September 2022, they have launched more than 3000 satellites into low-Earth orbit.

Starlink’s primary objective is to deliver high-speed and low latency broadband internet in remote rural locations all around the globe.

Ideally, they want to launch 42 000 satellites into low-Earth orbit, unfortunately there is a problem, the satellites are all to bright. Witch just a fraction of the final amount that is wanted, astronomers say that their reflections make it difficult to see the stars. Also, some people have been mistaking the satellites for alien spaceships. So, musk needed a solution, first he tried to paint them black but then the satellites would absorb too much solar radiation and overheat. He then came with another idea, sunglasses, the latest satellites are equipped with deployable sunshades that will stop them from reflecting light.

It is a crazy project to try to make it possible to have internet all around the globe, but hey, for crazy projects we need crazy men, like him.
